The hotel Antico Convento Ibla is located inside the Public Garden , Giardini Iblei, of Ragusa Ibla, the main baroque area of town; from here it is possible to reach, on foot, all buildings belonging to artistical and cultural Unesco heritage, also famous for Montalbano movie.
The hotel is located inside the historical building (monastery) called Antico Convento dei Cappuccini, whose origin dates back to the end of XVI 16TH century.
The whole building was restored in accordance to maintain the original monastery’s plan: rooms derive from ancient Capuchins’ cells and it is ensured all four stars comforts such as air conditioning, tv, minibar and free internet wi-fi. The interior design is very simple and essential because the aim is to reflect the same meditative spirit of building too.
The restaurant called Cenobio is open to all people and hotel guests. Our menu deal with raw, fresh and local materials, indeed they change according to changing of seasons, due to the high capability of Chefs in finding a correct balance between innovation and tradition.
A specific area of Antico Convento is reserved to Mediterranean Enogastronomic Cooking School Nosco which organizes professional courses in order to train and enrich the figure of Chef, moreover the school organize cooking lessons for travelers and for people interested in discovering typical recipes of our island.
